Here's the deal

I make no apologies for my neglectful blogging. I have a life [i.e. university homework] plus I don't have much readership anyway. I have a bad habit of procrastinating reading other blogs, but I don't take time to actually update this because I know I should be doing other things like textbook reading, which I never get around to doing anyway.
I have a Post-It note with a long list of post ideas which I will get around too. I planned on writing a real post after my Psych test last Thursday. Then it got cancelled a half an hour into the test when the fire alarm was pulled *headdesk*

Anyway I'll leave you with a picture of me at Nuit Blanche a few weeks ago. Notice my new glasses.
Until then I wish everyone love and pies.

I did something stupid

I broke my glasses, right down the centre. The only thing that can keep them together is with tape. So I'll probably only break them out during class, because I don't want to hear the Harry Potter comparisons.

What I'd really like to know is: can they be fixed? There is a glasses store on campus, or am I going to have to go home to get new ones or something. *le sigh*

I'm procrastinating on my Film History paper.

Poster sale this week at school. My neighbour, Becca, and I checked it out today they had some interesting stuff along with underwhelming landscapes and generic stoner fare.

Frankly I think that posters can be genuine, cheap art in a room... as long as it's framed nicely.

As far as my options are at the poster sale I'm intrigued by a few Fight Club and Dark Knight posters.

And here are some of my dream posters.

Most posters, whether it's for a movie or a band or whatever, are very well designed. I prefer ones with poppy colours like the Marie Antoinette and Darjeeling Limited posters. I'd pretty much kill for the Virgin Suicides poster, but it's pretty much my favourite movie and who wouldn't kill for their favourite movie poster?

Now I should probably get back to my essay...

Til Death...

I admit, I'm one of those girls who fantasizes about their future wedding. I say "those", because I know not all girls do this.

Anyway, if I still have this if/when I get engaged, be sure to hear a lot of wedding details. Or if you're curious leave messages and I can give you some dream wedding dress details or some such.

Anyway the reason I'm waxing on about weddings is that I found this photo on Flickr.

It's labelled a Key West wedding. I feel bad for the bridesmaid.

More pictures here.

Design Choices.

I am aware that I am nowhere near close to owning my own home, but that can't stop me from figuring out designs for it in the future.

I know for a hallway, or living room type area, I like the look of a sort of mosaic style of pictures in pictures frames. Especially with the juxtaposition of actual photographs, and art [graphic or traditional].

When looking at a bedroom I know I want white sheets, and perhaps white or light colour walls. It would have a nice clean and bright look. But not too much white because that might be too stark and institutional.
A panoramic landscape photo or painting is an interesting alternative to a headboard, even something to put over a short headboard. A skylight over a bed would be pretty cool too, and the accent wall is a nice touch. Also as a note, I hate footboards.

This built in storage side table is so very practical. The wood stain is pretty too. I prefer darker wood to lighter stuff.

Sweet photo collage.
My boyfriend loves this bed. It's growing on me, but I'd prefer it without the canopy.

A part of my Frosh week involved a trip to Ikea, and I saw this bed. It's a little low to the ground, but I still think it's awesome.
This is a bedside table that goes along with the above bed. They're called Malm.
My boyfriend and I decided though that if we ever got married he gets to design the kitchen. Thankfully he's also into design.

Design Choices

I moved into my residence last Sunday

This is my closet. I didn't bring enough hangers so my mom doubled up some of my clothes.

Tomorrow, my design ideas for my future house.

Young Folks

I don't know how I feel about High School Musical actors in Elle [not that I read Elle... unless Canadian Elle counts?], but I like these pictures.
I especially find the layering of spiky punk jewelry to look strikingly glamourous.
