Fashion Pet Peeve #2

White shoes. 

No not white shoes, white heels. There's just something about them that's so ugly. 

So very 1986. Making skin look darker , and subsequently making the shoes look brighter. 

Makes me think of Barbie dolls in a way. 

I think it's that they simply distract from an outfit rather than add to it. You can make a blah outfit pop with more colourful shoes than white.  White shoes really only work on all white outfits, and even then it's best suited for the more pale skinned of us. And pale I am not. 

Spring can't come soon enough

So my hair has been growing for awhile now; this is the longest it's been in awhile. However, as I've said before, I've been dying to get it cut really short. 

I don't think I'm brave enough to do that, because I like to be able to have some variety, but today I found the perfect cut in an issue of Elle.

Sorry, crappy webcam quality, but it's the best I can do. 

The weather is too cold at the moment, so I'll save up some money and go get it cut when it's warmer. 

Knitwit

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I am a knitter. 

Now don't be all "gasp" and "aww" and "Isn't that a grandmother thing?" 

It's not. 

I find it relaxing, and you can usually find some pretty stylish patterns. At the moment most of my bookmarked patterns are on my other computer, but a personal favourite website of mine is Knitty.com. It's updated seasonally with about 20 or 25 new patterns. It's kind of like Christmas when it's updated. 

Anyway, I digress. The point is that I really like the slouchy hat look, but a) I could never find the right hat and b) what's the point of paying hard earned cash mon

ey for a hat when I can make one. 

Unfortunately, I did not like the look at first. There are two categories of girls: ones who can wear hats and others who can't. I'm in the latter category, because when I see myself in them sometimes I feel like a doofus. 

However, today in my infinite boredom, I decided to give the hat a second chance. And hey it didn't look too bad. 

So what is your opinion?
