Urban Outfitters...A Review

So my little sleepy university town in Southern Ontario has recently opened an Urban Outfitters. And by recently I mean yesterday, and I admit my friends and I checked it out. Frankly, I'm not impressed.

Out of all two Urban Outfitters I have ever visited, this one seems to be the most spacious and the messiest. Shoes, hats and accessories are scattered throughout the store next to every little rack of clothing. And even the clothes are hidden in every nook and cranny. Almost as if the place was designed to draw in shoppers looking for one specific thing and force them to browse everything to find it [with the possibility of finding other cute, overpriced things]. The environment is nothing if not overwhelming.

However at the same time it sort of adds to the experience for someone who is browsing, where you can find little treasures all over the place, and doesn't cram every dress in one little section where everyone is trying to look.

Nonetheless I'm not too impressed with their selection. Their clothes are designed for the indie and/or nu-rave hipster, with all the bohemian floral print dresses, and graphic tees. They are also carrying a lot of peace symbol paraphernalia for a crowd* who have probably never participated in a peace rally in their life, [not to say that I have, I wouldn't buy the clothes, because as far as gestures of peace go, that's a pretty lame gesture], or are largely apathetic about politics.

And as far as home decorating goes, I don't know who would actually buy this rug, when it so easily could be made. Are people really that lazy?

There were a few things that did catch my eye though.
This sweater I find oddly interesting. Maybe it's my love for boatnecks, I don't know.

I love peach what can I say.

This bag in person is simply amazing in the Plum colour.

In the end, I'm still kind of excited there's an Urban Outfitters in my town. Next week, when the crowds have hopefully dissipated, my mom and I can browse for back to school clothes. I probably won't get anything though.

Cute blog. I like that bag as well, I've been thinking about getting it in the tobacco color.
